Reasoning from the decision
For the above reasons the proposal would not harm the overall character and appearance of the area and would accord with Core Policy 3 and Policy BE1 of the Lichfield District Local Plan Strategy 2008-2029 (2015) which amongst other matters seek to ensure that development respects the character of the surrounding area, including being of a scale which is appropriate to its locality. The scheme would harm the character and appearance of the area and therefore would conflict with Policies CP3 and BE1 of the Lichfield Local Plan Strategy which amongst other things requires new development to protect and enhance character and distinctiveness of the surrounding area and be of a size and scale that is appropriate to the locality. Development described in the decision
install PVCu porch entrance and conservatory.

Paragraph 3 · Source page 1
Reasoning from the decision
Consequently, the proposed development would have a harmful effect on the character and appearance of the appeal dwelling. It would therefore fail to accord with Core Policy 3 and Policy BE1 of the Lichfield District Local Plan Strategy (2015) which require that developments protect and enhance the character and distinctiveness of Lichfield District and its settlements and that developments have a positive impact on, amongst other things, the built vernacular, including extensions and alterations. For the same reasons, it would also conflict with the design guidance contained in the Council’s Design Code Supplementary Planning Document (2024) as well as the good design objectives of the National Planning Policy Framework.
